Drakenscroll

Because when you see that dragon, you know it's strong and solid.

The hearth is cold. Choose how you would like to be received — and the fire, the sound, and the story will rise to meet you.

Either door turns the sound on. Change it whenever you like.

The Living Sigil

The Long Memory

The house keeps a long memory. Leave an address and you hear of new voices, new instruments and new work before the world does. No course, no call, no salesman.

For crowdfunding campaigns

The Campaign Hall

A publishing campaign is won or lost in the first fifteen seconds of its video. Backers do not read the page until something makes them want to. The house forges that something out of your own pages — cast, scored, sound-worked, cut like film — and hands it to you before you launch.

The film playing behind this page is a Drakenscroll film book — The Dragon Brothers. Not a mock-up, not a reel of somebody else's work. Ours.

Three ways in

The video at the top of the campaign page

The Pledge Film

$300 — paid in full

  • Ninety finished seconds cut from your own pages, to the same law as a full build.
  • Cast voice, scored, sound-worked — the passage that makes a room go quiet.
  • Yours to run as the campaign video, the trailer, and the first update.
  • Every dollar credited against a full build chartered within 90 days.

A first campaign, a novella, or any campaigner who needs proof on the page before they ask for money.

Charter a Pledge Film

The reward that makes backers raise their pledge

The Stretch Goal

12% of word count for the film book · 7% for audio alone

  • A full film book edition of the funded book, named on the campaign as a stretch goal.
  • The matching audio book edition rides with it.
  • Delivered to your backers as a sealed download, not a promise.
  • Chartered on one of the four plans, so the campaign's own money can pay for it.

A campaign already clearing its goal, where the next tier of money has to be earned with something backers cannot buy elsewhere.

Build it in the Forge

The whole face of the raise

The Sovereign Campaign

From $9,500 — the Citadel's Hall tier and up

  • A campaign home of your own, so the raise does not live and die on one platform page.
  • Pledge film, motion cover, backer update cuts, and an email door that keeps the list after the campaign ends.
  • The film book or the Novel-Game itself as the headline reward.
  • Standing under the Watch after launch, so the site is tended while you ship.

A series, a press, or a raise above five figures where the campaign is the business, not an experiment.

Enter the Citadel

The order of a campaign

Come at the right time and everything is possible. Come inside 10 days of launch and the house will tell you no rather than hand you something thin.

  1. Ten to six weeks out

Commission the pledge film. Everything else on a campaign page can be written in a weekend; the film cannot.

  2. Four weeks out

Build the page around the film. Cover motion, blurb, reward tiers — the free instruments in the Workshop do all of it at no cost.

  3. Launch week

Run the film as the video, the trailer, and the first paid ad. One piece of work, three jobs.

  4. Mid-campaign

Name the film book or the Novel-Game as a stretch goal. It raises the ceiling without raising your workload.

  5. After the raise

The house forges what was funded and delivers it to your backers under seal.

Straight answers

Can the campaign pay for this instead of me?

Yes, for a stretch goal or a reward — that is funded work, forged after the raise clears. The pledge film is the exception: it has to exist before you ask for money, so it is paid up front, and it is the cheapest thing in this hall for exactly that reason.

Do I keep the rights?

All of them. You own your book and you own the finished work. The house keeps the right to name you as a client and nothing else.

What if the campaign fails?

The pledge film is yours regardless — it is a finished piece of your book, not a campaign asset. Stretch-goal work is only chartered once the money is in your hands.

How fast can you move?

Comfortably in 45 days, workable in 21, and tight in 10. Below that the house will tell you no rather than deliver something thin.

Have you actually finished one?

The film playing behind this page is a Drakenscroll film book — The Dragon Brothers. Not a mock-up, not a reel of somebody else's work. Ours.

Bring the house your date

Tell the house when you launch and what the book is. Everything the Workshop holds is free while you decide — the blurb, the motion cover, the reader's clock, the retail sheet.
