The arithmetic, quotable
Pricing is public arithmetic rather than negotiation: a film book is 12% of the manuscript word count, an audio book 7%. Finished runtime is about one minute per thousand words.
The free bench
The house keeps a workshop of free browser instruments for any author, commissioned or not: chapter timing, cast weighing, trailer cut sheets, retail metadata, launch runways and break-even reckonings.
