Register: does the voice sit where your prose sits — hushed and intimate, or broad and commanding? A mismatch of register is unfixable in the mix.

Range: can they carry your cast without cartooning? Stamina: does hour six sound like hour one? Discipline: do their characters stay themselves across three hundred pages?

How this house casts

Voices are auditioned in the Reading Room as fixed house lines, so you compare like against like instead of comparing performances of different material.

Casting more than one voice is priced as arithmetic, not negotiation: 1% of word count for every 2 voices, rounded up. A full cast is a decision, not an upsell.

Should one narrator do all the voices?

For single-viewpoint fiction, usually yes. For large ensembles and dual timelines, a cast reads far better.
