How much does a film book cost?

A film book is 12% of your manuscript's word count in dollars. A 90,000-word novel is $10,800 for base production, and the matching audio book edition rides with it at 33% of that figure.

The Reckoning

Free: put in your word count and watch the whole build price itself, add-ons and all, to the dollar.

Worked out, in plain numbers

50,000 words is $6,000. 90,000 words is $10,800. 150,000 words is $18,000. There is no per-minute rate, no bracket and no negotiation — the count is the price.

Voices add 1% of the word count for every 2 voices. Sound effects add 1% for every 5 effects. Blocks round up. A chosen, cut and mixed score is a flat $1,500.

A 50% deposit begins the build, or you may pay in full. The balance falls due on delivery.

What you receive for it

The whole book performed as film — narrated, cast, scored and cut to picture from first page to last — at roughly one minute of finished film per thousand words. A 90,000-word novel becomes about a ninety-minute film.

Masters delivered at retail and broadcast specification, in the aspect ratios you need for storefronts and for social. You own them.

Why word count and not runtime

Runtime is a guess until someone else has estimated it for you, which means a runtime quote can never be checked. Word count is the one number an author already holds.

Price the work off the count and the quote becomes arithmetic you can verify before you speak to anyone. Put your count into the Reckoning and the whole build prices itself in front of you.
