What the form actually is

It is not a movie adaptation. An adaptation rewrites the story as a screenplay and re-casts it for a director's eye. A movie book performs the author's own sentences, in order, unchanged, with picture cut to the prose rather than replacing it.

It is also not a book trailer. A trailer is a short advertisement, usually under ninety seconds. A movie book is the whole work, lasting as long as its own spoken text — roughly 155 words of manuscript to a finished minute.

The measure of the form

That measure is for the delivered work, not a raw reading. It already accounts for scoring, silence, chapter seams and the weight of the scenes.

Why answer both names

Some authors search for 'film book' because they have seen the term. Others search for 'movie book' because that is what the form looks like to them. A house that owns a category answers in the reader's own words, not only in its own.
