Because when you see that dragon, you know it's strong and solid.

The hearth is cold. Choose how you would like to be received — and the fire, the sound, and the story will rise to meet you.

Either door turns the sound on. Change it whenever you like.

The Long Memory

The house keeps a long memory. Leave an address and you hear of new voices, new instruments and new work before the world does. No course, no call, no salesman.

How do I turn my book into social media content?

Stop writing posts about your book and start cutting pieces out of it. One performed edition yields hundreds of short clips; one chapter yields a week. The system is: choose moments, cut vertical, caption everything, and post the same piece across every platform.

Work it out yourself, free

The Workshop

Free: the Audiogram Forge, the Trailer Cutter and the Cover Motion Test — clips you can post today.

If you have a performed edition

A 90,000-word film book runs about 9h 41m. At forty seconds a clip, that is hundreds of pieces before you repeat yourself.

Cut on emotion, not on chapter boundaries. A clip should end where a reader would want the next line.

Rotate types: a scene, a line of prose on picture, a piece of score, a behind-the-work note.

If you have no footage yet

An audiogram — waveform over a still — is the cheapest real clip you can make, and the Workshop forges them free.

The Pin Hall makes vertical plates for platforms that want a standing image.

Read one passage to camera. Imperfect and human beats polished and absent.

What not to do

Do not post buy links as content. A link is a destination, not a reason to stop scrolling.

Do not invent reviews, figures or awards to manufacture proof. One unverifiable claim costs more trust than it buys.

Do not chase every platform. Two, posted consistently, beat five abandoned.

The order of the work

  1. 01Mark the momentsGo through the manuscript and mark every passage that lands in under forty seconds: a turn, a line of dialogue, a reveal, a laugh.
  2. 02Cut vertical firstMake 9:16 the master cut. Square and wide are trims of it, never the other way round.
  3. 03Caption everythingMost viewing is silent. Burned-in captions are not optional.
  4. 04Open on the momentNo logo, no title card. The first second is the whole battle.
  5. 05Post the same piece everywhereOne cut serves Reels, Shorts and TikTok. Repurposing beats reinventing.
  6. 06Keep a queueCut ten at a sitting so posting never depends on inspiration.

Asked and answered

How long should a book clip be?
Fifteen to forty seconds for most platforms. Cut ruthlessly; the moment is the point.
How many clips can one film book produce?
A 9h 41m edition can yield hundreds of distinct clips before anything repeats.
Do captions really matter?
Yes. A large share of short-form viewing happens with the sound off.
Can the house do this posting for me?
The Herald is the house's marketing add-on, sold as effort and reach — never as sales, rankings or reviews.
